Hej, och god morgon! (Hello, and good morning!)

Another overcast day greets us in Stockholm on May 29th, 2022. We turn out of the channel…

…and pull straight ahead into our berth at the pier.

We’re in Stockholm for two days, and this is my view. Ugh.

I get to watch the Celebrity Apex pull in for a day! We saw the Apex a while ago, I think in the Mediterranean. The box of the ship is unique – the first forward slanting bow I’ve seen on anything larger than a 50-foot sailboat.

The view forward through the ship’s camera doesn’t show me much, either, but at least I got a chuckle out of capturing the crewman cleaning the camera window!

Late afternoon the Apex pulled out and spun around to leave. I grabbed this profile shot so you can see the Magic Carpet bar the new Celebrity ships all have.

Day 2 we have much better weather, and it’s time for us to leave. We back out and make the turn. I wish I could have watched that ferry port and the bridge across the channel for two days instead of a dirt pile and condos.

We head out the channel with the sunshine chasing us!

We make a turn so we can now appreciate the color of the beautiful greenery we’re sailing through!

We pass this lovely little community!

Then we reach Oscar-Frederik Castle on our starboard…

…and Frederik Fortress on the port side. This is a narrow channel so no invader stood much of a chance if they were detected here.

Soon the pilot boat comes chasing us!

I’ve been remiss at watching for beautiful sunsets. So indulge me on this one. I couldn’t get either camera to show the strip of blue sky that still existed just below the cloudline. But the rest of the colors are absolutely fabulous!
